Very good salad wedge, sirloin, ribs.....decent prices for a good meal! Reminded me of Outback Steakhouse.

Horrible service. Wish I could get negative stars. It smelled amazing. There 5 of us, 4 adults and 1 child (2). We were seated and never saw our server. We sat there 10 minutes. Half a dozen servers, bus boys, and even the host walked by without noticing us. I final caught the attention of the host that sat us and asked for a waitress. Wait another 5 minutes for a waitress to tell us, I'll be with you in few minutes. We got up and left. No water even delivered to the table, not order, nothing. Very disappointed. And it's not as if the place was super busy. Probably 20 table with people at them and at least 6 servers that I saw, including the 2 watching the Tigers' game at the bar. We won't be trying this place when we pass through town again.

We just left the Soaring Eagle Casino and I felt we had spent and/or lost enough money there and would have a late lunch in Mt. Pleasant. The Lone Star was on the south side of the road and sounded good, so in we go. They were not too busy at this, in between, hour and we got prompt and friendly service. As they were still serving lunch, I selected a trio of items for $7.99. A loaded Baked Potato, a bowl of Loaded Potato Soup and a bowl of "New" French Onion Soup. The Baked Potato was shared and enjoyed. The Baked Potato Soup was very good and extremely HOT. The French Onion Soup was a little cool and had a heavy layer of cheese and some real mushy bread in the broth. It was OK, but I wouldn't order it again. My wife ordered the Bubba Burger with Mushrooms and Cheese and it was delicious. It came with a mountain of HOT Steak Fries and was an excellent choice. The service was top notch and I'm tempted to go 4 stars, but I'm only giving it 3 for now and I'll be back...

Bleh! Mediocre chain food restaurant food with tacky western decor and god awful country music blaring loudly. My parents would probably love it.

Being close to Soaring Eagle, my friends and I go there for a nice dinner in between drinking and gambling. I've been there 3 times, and each time, the same general experience arises. If they are busy (which they usually are on a Saturday evening), they have a terrible time trying to accommodate our group, even with reservations. We reserved a table for 12 one time, and all was good. The next time, we ordered a table for 8, but when we arrived at our time, it wasn't ready since they were far busier. To ease the problem, we just split up our group, and all was well. The food is excellent! I always mix up my meal with steak, burger, or ribs. While good food is a staple of Lone Star, this place does it right. Even in large groups, you will be served well with multiple servers, who are all eager to assist you. One reoccurring complaint is their beer. While it's somewhat high on the price ($4.75 for a 24oz. mug), the beer always seems to be flat, watered down, and not that great... at least the Budweiser is. A year later, I went back to this place and couldn't quite remember what bothered me last time. I took a sip and remembered, "Oh yeah, the beer sucks." The nearest Lone Star to where I live (Dundee, MI) doesn't have that problem. But, if beer sucks, drink until it tastes good.

Their steak is ok but nothing special. However, I do like mushroom and grilled onion sides and backed sweet potato as well. I visited here couple times and the latest was last month. If you wanna celebrate something with your friends, family, or other reasons that make you wanna have different place to eat. Then you may visit this restaurant. The environment is decorated good and with some Texas decoration. Other than that, I won't recommend to eat here. The place was crowded when it's holiday, so be prepare to make reservations or to go your food.

There were 5 of us at the Mt Pleasant location last night for book club. Waited 30 minutes for a booth,(that's how long they told me it would be) server was prompt but got my drink order wrong. Asked for a drink on the rocks and received it frozen. Salads came, two of them had nothing but lettuce and cheese (did not ask for special order). Steaks were done properly but one plate had extra shrimp, grilled and fried...bills came and two of ours were wrong. I had someone else's drink on my bill and one person had an upgrade from house wine to more expensive glass. I will go again because I like their steaks and rolls, but I hope for we get a better server.

Very friendly service. The food was cooked accordingly and it was hot. What more can you want from a restaurant.

Very Cold INSIDE!!!. They kept the double doors open because they were busy. 25 degrees outside. BUT..... that made it 52 degrees inside!! Everyone was wearing their winter jackets! Told the staff , "Turn up the heat!" Our waitress said" Good LUCK with that!!".. "IT is ALWAYS COLD!" Geeesh. !!! SLOW SERVICE. 1 hr 35 min. overall. We will not come back here. FROZEN BLUE. The manager must be happy with his gas heating bills!

Tonight my husband, my sister-in-law and I had a date night. Our first stop was Lone star. My husband had known of this place from before, but I have never heard of it. So we decided to try it. First off, the dinner rolls they give you are very good. They are almost like how my grandma's homemade rolls are. They give you cinnamon butter for them too. This is a very deadly combo for bread lovers like myself, especially before a big meal. His sister and I got the 2 for $20 deal. I ordered the Signature Steak and Wedge Salad with a side of baked sweet potato. I was quite impressed with the Wedge salad. I ate most of that before even noticing the steak chunks. The sweet potato was huge! It came with butter and cinnamon sugar on it. The portions were definitely Texas-sized. I have a full lunch for tomorrow, possibly some for the next day too. She ordered the San Antonio Sirloin with the Texas Rice and Baked Sweet Potato. She seemed to fully enjoy her meal. She did say that the rice seemed to miss something though. As part of the 2 for $20 we ordered the Texas Rose. It was quite good. I don't normally like onion rings, but these were cooked well and came with a delicious sauce to dip them in. My husband ordered the Rib Eye with french fries and creamed spinach. The meat got his approval, it was even too big for him to finish. The creamed spinach was very good, just the way I like it. Our waiter was great, very enthusiastic and he kept checking up on us to see if we wanted anything else. Great service, good food and giant portions. A good start to our date night.

This is an experience. Meaning you have to wait nearly 2 hours before getting your food. If you have plans for a night out cancel them if you want to eat here.

Bacon and bleu Burger was a bit dry and instead of real Bacon, had to use Bacon bits. So the food was so-so, but of course I ate it all due to waiting too long between meals. However, the service was excellent, bartender really cool and made one hell of a Margarita. Now, let's see the bill? ......and it was a bargain! I might have got hooked up on this one.

Great place to grab a steak within the area without breaking the wallet by going to the casino or another expensive restaurant. Last time I went I received the best service I have had from a waiter in a long time. Food was great and service was even better.

My girlfriend and I went to Lone Star, because we really wanted a good steak. When we got there the wait staff was very slow, we didn't get a drink order for 15 min. The manager actually took our drink order and then bought our appetizer for us. The appetizer we got was the Texas Rose, like a Bloomin' Onion from Outback, it was actually very good, just very greasy. We had ordered our food immediately, but we had a long wait to receive it, the manager intervened again, called us the unlucky table and then offered us a free dessert. Our steaks were actually very good (8oz. Sirloin), but our side of mashed potatoes left something to be desired, it was more like potato slop, it was very runny and had a weird lemon undertone. Over all we did not have a very good experience and probably will not return, even though we enjoyed the steak. The manager was very polite about our slow service and it was nice of her to pay for out appetizer and dessert. And when our waiter did arrive he was very polite.
